A qualification aligned to a specific occupation, accredited by the QCTO and typically funded through a SETA. Distinct from CAPS-based academic qualifications, occupational certificates combine classroom instruction with workplace practical training. Two examples relevant to valley families:

  • Occupational Certificate: Livestock Farmer (NQF 3, OFO 99253), offered by Elsenburg; entry from Grade 9.
  • Occupational Certificate: Orchard and Vineyard Foreman (NQF 4, OFO 110667), offered by Elsenburg; entry from Grade 10 or five years farm supervisory experience.
