The NSC pass level required for bachelor’s degree admission at a South African university. A learner needs a minimum of 50% in four subjects and 30% in two others (beyond Life Orientation), with at least four subjects from the designated list. Competitive programmes (medicine, engineering, actuarial science, law at top institutions) require 70% to 80% or higher in prerequisite subjects.
Lower NSC pass levels are the Diploma pass (qualifies for diploma programmes at universities and public colleges) and the Higher Certificate pass (qualifies for certificate programmes).
